FA and trades
hi everyone!
I've searched a few things and I think I need to share the info with you.
1. If some player rejected his contract and then was traded he would go directly to FA pool by the end of season. There would be no possibility to sign him
moreover
2. If you traded to your team last year contract player (doesn't matter if he rejected his contract or not offered by previous owner at all) - he would go directly to FA pool also!
Thats only my own researches - it might be wrong.
But if its right - that means mess in trading and i.e. Raiders has 1 and 2 cases via trade. And I don't think its fair to release them in FA w/o knowing this bag.
here is the link of another franch I've run into: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=81024122

Re: FA and trades
Awww shiiiit things will get messy, lol
What I've found is that players with 1 year contracts don't give u an opportunity to bid on them mid season
Only at the end,
Has this forum poster done his research and gone to the end of the season into resigning period, or just based this on not being able to offer contacts midmseason???
Examples I tested in a sim offline cc
LDETrevor Scott,
1 year deal, cant resign mid season, simmed a cc to the end, i could put an offer in
FB katani, cut then resigned immediately come end of year, could resign one time offer
WR welker, declined contract, midseason cut and resigned immediately, couldn't offer a deal end of season, auto FA

yeah id like to see the cap set to OFF, its a 32 man league so all trades have to still be agreed upon and approved, the cap is a pain in the ass to me ass well...

Re: FA and trades
well - I'm not against salary caps and other things we have however I do think we need concede giving a priority in FA talks to those managers who did aquare through trades last year contracts players (basically all trade up to week 5) as they haven't been acknowledged about the fact that they wouldn't have an opportunity to offer a deal at least once.
after all - there should be some common sense in such questions.
also as for the future trades (after week 5) I would suggest "play" under EA rules knowing that you can't resign players and also add years of contract to current position-name-overall info when sending it to trade moderators.
I hope this message would turn attention of league's committee.
thanks.

Re: FA and trades
if you saw the next update of the title, seems they have fixed something about it. We will check it out every day.
Re: FA and trades
Niners traded for C Unger ( last year contract). If he will refuse to extend his contract, nobody will pick him in FA pool. Or i will kill someone:twisted:
Re: FA and trades
yeah thats all you would have to do is just let the guy that agreed to the trade pick him up, its a simple fix..

No, as a trade mod i don't let the trade to through....
Untill we know the outcome of the patch
The process is there to stop people off loading players if they eventually are to walk,
U botched the negotiations they walk...u cant stop the flow of players entering FA
The idea of FA is to help lower teams get players an created a bit more evenness is team skill level...help with Parity
This trade is different to the one year contact LaRon Landry was on, as this guy had decided against resigning,
We can't make up or change rules now half way into the process,

Re: FA and trades
what i was trying to say was this: the reason hes not getting resigned by seattle is because i didnt know how to do the negotioations at first, now that i do, ive resigned several guys successfully..If the trade goes through, and he wouldnt re sign with the niners, Mani could be allowed to get him off the market and no one else would. The situation is unique in that we didnt know how this would work with the new CC engine..It could be the new way to handle some trades invloving guys going into a new contract year.

exactly the same thing with Avril and Raiders.
I don't like the situation when my team (
I don't like the situation when my team (

Re: FA and trades
U shouldn't of cheap skated either of them,
Only reason ur tradding them is cause they will walk,
U either tagg em or loose em,
Just like the real world, now the difference is in the real world u wouldn't know they are not going to resign untill the offseason,
So you wouldn't know befor trade deadline they arnt willing to resign,
Every one has made decisions and based trades on a certain way of the FA and bidding system and its working and process, u cant go throwing Caveites on to certain issues midway throu....
I didn't move welker cause he will walk on the next guy,
Sooo now the rules change i could of moved him easier and kept his worth in other players or picks,

Re: FA and trades
Yeah, if it's a glitch then it needs to be addressed as one. Give the team exclusive rights. If it's bad GM'ing, then they should be fair game. I haven't dealt with this yet so I have no idea what it is.
I'm sure an EA Madden glitch would shock the hell out of all of us, wouldn't it?

Re: FA and trades
the only issue is if all traded players who have 1 year left will go into FA or only the ones who rejected a contract with there previous team.
if its all players then its a bug if its the one that reject a deal then it would make some kind of sense.
altough they should be able to be tagged.
not sure how EA worked this out at this point.
some say all players others say only those who rejected a deal.
anyways if its all players i think there new team should have a option on them first.

Re: FA and trades
We can debate it all we like but it will change after this comming patch,
Leave it be, no sus trades with players who reject deals amd let the patch happen and re-assess after it

Re: FA and trades
Players like LaRon and Reece with one year left should be separated and looked after as that team did no wrong,
Players like Avril, Curry Ungar and welker who reject deals shouldn't be traded as they are only traded because they will walk

How do we know if they've rejected or not?
